Jim C. Nedd

Artist

Jim C. Nedd (b. 1991) is a Colombian-Italian artist who works predominantly with photography and music, exploring the richly creative space between fiction and documentary. Fusing intimate and reflective moments from daily life with dreamlike and surreal elements, Nedd transforms the figures and landscapes of his surroundings into poetic works woven with recurring themes—often inspired by collective memory, shared experiences, and his Caribbean heritage.

Internationally recognized, he has participated in group exhibitions at Bienal das Amazônias, Belem (2025); FOMU, Antwerp (2025); MACRO, Rome (2022–2024); Athens Biennale #7, Athens (2021); Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool (2021); and Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (2021). His solo presentations include Pech, Vienna (2025); Museo Madre, Naples (2023); MAMBO, Bogotá (2022); Triennale Milano (2020/2025); and Autoitalia, London (2020). In the gallery context, his work has been shown with Damien & The Love Guru, Brussels and Zurich (2024); Zaza, Milan and Naples (2023); Gregor Staiger, Milan and Zurich (2023); Sandy Brown, Berlin (2023/2021); and Mishkin Gallery, New York (2020).

In music, he is co-founder (with Matteo Pit) of Primitive Art, an experimental electronic duo that has released the EP Crab Suite (Arcola, 2018) and the LP Problems (Hundebiss Records, 2012).

Articles on his work have appeared in Aperture, Flash Art, Cura, and Lampoon. As a fashion photographer, Nedd has collaborated with magazines such as Vogue Italia, PIN-UP Magazine, GQ, Esquire, and Revue, and from 2015 to 2020 was part of the editorial team of Toilet Paper magazine, founded by Pierpaolo Ferrari and Maurizio Cattelan. Since 2019, he has also contributed to UNICEF, producing reportages in Sicily, Beirut, and along the Syrian border.
